Do you ever have days that you feel stressed, overwhelmed or tired? What do you do to help yourself? I have felt overwhelmed numerous times in the past when I was raising two boys on my own, running my own businesses, running a house, fighting depression some days, too much to do in a short period of time and so on. I think everyone has these moments but it is what we do and say to ourself that helps us gets though these days.

I am not a negative person so I never allowed my thoughts to be. Always, always watch your thoughts!!

I always found a way to find calmness such as going for long walks, learning to breathe (such as inhaling for a count of 4, holding your breath for 4 and exhaling slowly for a count of 4), this calms the racing heart and thoughts; try yoga, watch a funny show or movie so you can laugh, which is great medicine and some times I would even pour myself a glass of wine! The key is finding what works for you and not allowing your feelings to get the best of you. You need to recognize the symptoms before life takes ahold of you.

Life has sped up and we are all much busier than we used to be. Learn to relax, slow down and stop and breathe. What you cannot accomplish in one day, remember there is always the next day.

What a wonderful time of year to look at the abundance we have in our lives. Even if you have only a little, you are still rich within the heart.


Everyday we should feel gratitude. Blessings such as we have running water, electricity, a home, food in our cupboards, friends, family, clothes and so much more. We also have the gift of sight to see the beauty we live with, the sense of touch, taste and hear.


We take so much for granted and this is the perfect time to recognize this.


Remember, if everyday you take a few moments to appreciate what you have, the Universe will bring you more.
